File PhotoBangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Friday said Bangladesh Awami League would no more be able to hold a 5-January-like election.Talking to newsmen at his village home in Thakurgaon, the BNP leader said the AL will have to hold the next general elections in a free, fair and neutral manner.He criticised his counterpart in the ruling AL, Obaidqul Quader, for making “disparaging remarks against BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia”.“The way AL general secretary Obaidul Quader launched scathing attacks on BNP chairperson is unwarranted.”He said the BNP wants to join the polls, but that elections must be free and fair.“The people of the country want the elections to be held under a neutral and election-conducive government. AL will no more be able to hold an election like that of 2014. It must hold a neutral and transparent election this time,” said Fakhrul.last_img
