first_imgManchester United are edging ever closer to a deal for Paul Pogba – with the midfielder’s agent set for showdown talks with Juventus.Jose Mourinho is desperate to add Pogba to his squad this summer and United are ready to pay a world record fee of more than £100m to take their former youth team player back to Old Trafford.The Frenchman’s representative, Mino Raiola, is understood to have already held talks with United about personal terms and is now planning to meet with Juve officials imminently to discuss a move to the Premier League.Pogba joined Juve for just £800,000 in 2012 having turned down a new contract at United due to a lack of first team opportunities under Sir Alex Ferguson.He has enjoyed a hugely successful spell in Turin – winning four consecutive Serie A titles – but is now preparing to move on and is excited by the prospect of working with Mourinho.Pogba was initially understood to have favoured a move to Real Madrid but their manager Zinedine Zidane played down the Spanish club’s interest earlier this week.United are now confident they can secure Pogba’s signature and hope Raiola can convince Juve to do a deal quickly.
